Where Ember actually is today
We’d rather not pretend. Ember opens in Bengaluru first, and expands from there as each city reaches the density that makes a dating app worth opening. Brazil is a market we want, not a market we serve today.
The waitlist is genuinely how the order gets decided. Signing up from São Paulo, Rio, Belo Horizonte or anywhere else is a concrete signal about where demand is, and it’s the main input we have.

What a real Brazil launch needs first
A dating app that opens in a country without speaking its language isn’t launching, it’s trespassing. Ember is English-only today. A Brazilian launch means a genuine Portuguese version, local pricing in reais, and moderation that reads Portuguese properly rather than through a translation layer.

Is Ember available in Brazil?
Not yet. Ember opens in Bengaluru first and expands to further markets from there. Brazil is on the list, and waitlist signups are how we decide which cities to open and in what order.
Which Brazilian cities would Ember open in first?
Density decides it. São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are the natural first two, with Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Curitiba and Porto Alegre following. Joining the waitlist from your city counts toward that decision.
Is Ember available in Portuguese?
Not yet — Ember is currently English-only. A Portuguese version is part of what a proper Brazil launch requires, and we'd rather say that plainly than ship a half-translated app.
How does verification work?
Every account passes a photo check and an identity check before it can appear to anyone. Unverified profiles are never shown. What you submit stays with Ember — other users see a badge, not your documents.
