Community Guidelines

People come to Ember to meet someone genuine. So show up as yourself.

• Use recent photos that are actually of you.
• Be honest about your name, age, and who you are.
• One account per person — no fake or duplicate profiles.
• Don’t impersonate anyone else or use photos that aren’t yours.

Behind every profile is a real person. Treat them the way you’d want to be treated.

• No harassment, threats, hate speech, or bullying.
• No discrimination based on race, religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability, or appearance.
• “No” is a complete answer. Respect it.
• Don’t pressure anyone for photos, money, or personal information.

Ember isn’t the place for any of this:

• Nudity or sexually explicit content.
• Violence, self-harm content, or anything illegal.
• Spam, ads, promotions, or links to other services.
• Soliciting money, donations, or business.

We build safety into Ember, but your own judgement matters most.

• Meet new people in public for the first few times.
• Tell a friend where you’re going and who you’re meeting.
• Never send money to someone you haven’t met — romance scams are real, and this is the single biggest red flag.
• Take your time. Anyone rushing you off the app is a warning sign.

Ember is strictly for people 18 and over. If you’re under 18, you can’t use Ember. Anyone who lies about their age, or who tries to contact a minor, will be removed and reported.

If someone breaks these guidelines or makes you uncomfortable, block and report them right from their profile or your chat. Reports are confidential, and we review them. When someone crosses the line, we remove content, and suspend or permanently ban the account.

Following these guidelines keeps Ember a place worth being. Breaking them — especially around safety, honesty, or respect — means losing access to it. That’s the trade we all make to keep this community good. Thanks for helping us protect it.
